Wednesday, June 11th Thanks Everyone....
I was speaking with a client of mine the other day, and we began to talk about business, like we always kind of did. My client owns two very lucrative businesses, and I basically look up to him and try to absorb all of the advice that he gives me. Ironically enough, my client who seems to have everything in the world, actually told me he was envious. I was so thrown back that I don't even remember what I said. As I was driving home from our session, I took some time to think about it (I hate 695 traffic, but it does give you some time to think :) Some times I get so caught up in my work that I neglect to think outside the box. I have totally been taking for granted the fact that I am making a living doing what I love. Never have I gotten out of bed and thought to myself, "I hate this." Not everyone can say that. I feel so fortunate and blessed to be able to do what I love. As trainers, fitness, and helping people change their lives in a positive way, is what we love. The fact that we are able to make a living doing what we love is a blessing. I just wanted to take the time, on behalf of myself, as well as all of the trainers at Every Body's Personal Trainer, to thank all of our clients. Thanks for all of your continued support and allowing us to be so fortunate as to do what we love. I wish you all the best in health and happiness, Your friend in health, Eric Leader
Tuesday, June 3rd Keep Hydrated...
Hey you all, I hope this entry finds you well. As you know, we are getting into some hot weather now, and the temps, as well as the humidity, is increasing. As a result, I have been seeing a lot of cramping lately among my clients. If you are experiencing muscle cramping, please make sure that you are properly hydrating yourself. Not only is it important to hydrate yourself during exercise, but it is very important to continue drinking fluids periodically throughout your day. Also be sure to watch your potassium intake. Potassium will help prevent cramping. Fruits are a great source of potassium and can make a great compliment to any pre or post-workout meal. I wish you all the best in health and happiness, Your friend in health, Eric Leader

Wednesday, May 21st Motivation....
Hey everyone, I hope this entry finds you all well. Here we go again with an entry on motivation (I think I am on some sort of a motivation kick). Nonetheless, in my opinion, motivation is one of the most important ingredients of a good program. Lets face it, working out can be so boring and monotonous at times. Some what is going to get you through it? What is going to wake you up first thing in the morning before work to go running? In my mind, everyone has something that motivates them. Maybe I spent too much time reading about Freud in college, but I feel that we all have something down deep that pushes us. Maybe it's an old boyfriend, or your husband's brother who made fun of your weight, or maybe you just want to get into a different dress size. Everybody has one or more of these underlying motives. So what is the point? When I was younger, I was a very skinny boy. I wanted so badly to build myself up. I wanted a body that I was confident about. A body that looked healthy, strong, and in good shape. I was fortunate enough to have a weight room in my house and boy did I take advantage of it. I was so motivated. I would post sayings on the wall, and different motivational illustrations to encourage me (I think my family thought I was a bit strange). The point is that it worked for me. I was so motivated. I lived for it. Find what motivates you and use it. Be cognizant of it, and even write it down if it helps. When you are feeling tired, think about it. When you feel like having that pizza, think about it. When you are feeling lazy, think about it. Don't be afraid to let it come out and inspire you. I wish you all the best in health and happiness, Your friend in health, Eric Leader
Tuesday, May 13th Motivational Quotes
Everyone who knows me, or is a client of mine, knows that I am constantly using quotes and sayings to try to motivate (some of my clients think I am crazy :). I don't care what you set out to do in life, you need to keep motivated and goal oriented. It is so easy to become complacent, and get side-tracked. I have been fortunate enough to have worked with some very successful people in my personal training career. As a trainer, not only do I help me clients, but I try to learn from them as well. It is my opinion that to self actualize you need to constantly keep on challenging yourself, and learning. So as a service to my friends, I have started a motivational quote section of my website. It is my hope that if you are hitting a plateau and need that extra jolt, that I can help to provide that service. If you are a client of mine, you may want to stay away from this section (just kidding:) If anyone has a quote they would like to post, feel free to send it to me at eric@everybodyspersonaltrainer.com. I wish you all the best in health and happiness, Your friend in health, Eric Leader
Friday, May 9th Don't Forget Mom...
Hey everyone, I hope that this entry finds you all well. I am sure you all know that Mother's Day is fast approaching. To be honest, each year that I age, I am more and more thankful for everything that my mother has done for me. When you are growing up, you don't think about the small things. For instance, all of the rides to practice, the $100 sneakers you just "had" to have, and just the simple fact that you thought you knew everything. Not to mention all of the changed diapers, lack of sleep, and nose wiping in those early years :) Where would we be without our mothers? Well mom, if you are reading this entry, thank you very much for all that you have done for me. You are the greatest, and I wish you the best Mother's Day. Thanks for always being there for me and putting up with me. Love you mom... (was this too sappy?). I wish you all the best in health and happiness, Your friend in health, Eric Leader
