Eric's Blog Saturday, December 15th Almost Holiday Time!!!
Well my friends, it is almost officially holiday time. Christmas and New Year's are right around the corner, and we all know what that means. A major challenge to our fitness and nutrition programs. Just because it is the holiday season, doesn't mean we can abandon all of the hard work thus far in regards to diet and exercise. I am not saying you can't eat some of those delicious holiday cookies, but you need to keep it within reason. My advice, keep on working out, and try to monitor how many calories you are taking in versus how many calories you are burning. Try to keep up with your personal trainer if possible to ensure that you are getting your workouts in. Try to balance the extra eating with a bit more cardio, and remember how hard you have worked to get to where you are. Don't let all of that progress go to waste by neglecting your diet and exercise plan. Now I know what you are saying, "come-on Eric, give us a break." Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to tell you not to indulge. I am just advocating keeping it within reason. I know I'll be munching down those cookies and pies. However, I will definitely be conscious of how much I ate, and I will try to balance it with my exercise. I wish you all the best in health and happiness during the holiday... Tuesday, December 18th Buyer Beware!!!
As a personal trainer first, and owner second, I opened this company because of my love of personal training. I have always been a fitness enthusiast ever since I was a kid, and helping my clients achieve their goals has always been my focus. As a personal trainer, there is no greater feeling than seeing your client achieve their goals and boost their self confidence. With this in mind, I made it my mission to hire only the best personal trainers money could buy. At Every Body's Personal Trainer, our personal trainers have been carefully selected by me, and uphold the highest standards in the industry. There are a lot of personal trainers in this industry, and a lot of companies who claim to be the best of the best. Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying our company is the only good one out there. Some of my competitors are also among my friends, however, my best advice is to beware of how you are investing your hard earned money. My best advice is to shop around. Is the company well established? Do they offer testimonials? How is their customer service? Are they always around to talk to you and answer your questions? It is very important to make sure that you and your personal trainer are a good fit. Make sure to schedule a free consultation with your potential personal trainer. Research questions to ask pertaining to their certifications, their programs, their background, etc. When hiring a personal trainer, you should be certain that they fit the bill. I wish you all the best in health and happiness during this holiday season, Your friend in health, Eric Leader
Monday, December 24th Congrats Adam!!!
Last night, not unlike many of you out there, I attended a holiday party with my family. After ingesting copious amounts of cookies and treats and feeling nauseated, I noticed my brother Adam across the room chowing down on vegetables and crackers. Not only that, but something was different about him. He looked amazing! So much leaner, so much healthier looking. I wrestled the cookie out of my mouth and went over to talk to him. Now don't get me wrong, he has always been in relatively good shape, but he was looking so much more lean and mean. I had to ask him about it. We began talking and I said, "hey man, what's up with the veggies, where's the good stuff, it's Christmas. By the way, what have you been doing, you look great." Adam informed me that he had dropped 25 pounds!!! He had been working out every day, combining cardio with weight training, and has been carefully monitoring his calorie intake. Not only that, but he told me that since he has gotten so much healthier, the treats and junk foods just make him feel sick. Wow, I couldn't believe it. It made me so proud. What's the moral here my friends. During the toughest time of the year, with two young kids, a house ready to hit the market, a job that requires him to work roughly 55-60 hours a week, and while taking classes at night to finish his masters, my brother Adam was able to find time to exercise every day and drop 25 pounds!!! It can be done, you just have to have the discipline. I wish you all the best in health and happiness during this holiday season, Your friend in health, Eric Leader
Thursday, December 27th That a Way, Mark
Just yesterday I was training one of my clients whose name is Mark. To say the least, Mark is one of the most hard working clients I have ever had. Not only do we train three times a week, but he also works out a couple of days on his own. He is always asking questions about how to improve himself, and I love that. Remember, when you hire a personal trainer, ask them as many questions as you can. It is just as important to learn, as it is to work out. After our work out, Mark reminded me that he was going to be away for a week on a ski trip. He proceeded to ask me about work outs that he could do in his hotel because he wanted to keep up the positive momentum he had built. My first thought was how great it was that he wanted to work out while he was away. My second thought was, isn't skiing enough exercise :) Anyhow, the point is that to be successful with your fitness program, you need to keep up with it. Even on your vacations. I wish you all the best in health and happiness during this holiday season, Your friend in health, Eric Leader
Monday, December 31st Happy New Year!!!!

Friday, January 11th How about this weather???
Can you believe this warm weather we are having in the heart of the winter? There is no better time than now to break that monotonous rut in your cardio program and challenge yourself with some cardio outside. Try some interval runs or some sprint work, maybe just a jog or so. If you are daring, maybe attempt some hills. The bottom line, exercise can be boring. It is very important to change things up or else you will want to quit. So get off your butt, tie those sneaks, and head on outside... Your friend in health, Eric Leader

Hey everyone...I hope this entry finds you all in good health as the winter is starting to get a bit colder. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am excited to say that we will soon be welcoming a dietitian (RD) to our team. I'll be keeping you all informed as to when services will be offered, but I am very excited. As we all know, nutrition is a crucial part of seeing great gains in a fitness program. Saturday, February 2nd Enjoy the game .......
Hey you all!!! I hope this entry finds everyone well. I have had a lot of clients asking me lately what they should do for Super Bowl snacking. A lot of people have been worried about falling off the wagon during the Super Bowl festivities. So what's my advice? Lets face it, eating right Super Bowl Sunday is going to be hard. My advice is just to do the best you can. Fill up on a healthy dinner, and stay with the pretzels rather than the doritos or chips. Try to stay away from the heavy dips and the salt shaker. In addition, try to drink plenty (not beer you all :) so that your stomach will be a bit fuller and you won't be as hungry. Finally, get ready to hit it hard on Monday. Spend some extra time doing your cardio and burn those extra calories off from the night before. Go Giants.....................(sorry I am a New York Fan) I wish you all the best in health and happiness, Your friend in health, Eric Leader
