Frequently Asked
Personal Training Fitness Questions
Fitness questions: What is personal training?
Personal training consists of one-on-one coaching from a certified
personal fitness trainer. Your trainer teaches and motivates you to work
hard consistently, while following a detailed fitness and nutrition plan
developed for you based on your goals.
Personal training is the most effective method of reaching your health,
fitness, and/or weight loss goals, as it utilizes the most effective exercise
and nutrition strategies while ensuring your progression and answering your
fitness questions.
How will I benefit from working with a personal trainer?
You WILL benefit in so many ways - here's a short list:
Gain advanced knowledge, become accountable for your personal health,
learn how to be consistent, increase strength, lose weight, reduce risk
of injury, increase metabolism, improve flexibility, eliminate aches and
pains, tighten and tone muscles, get answers to all your fitness
questions.
What kind of results can I expect?
Results depend on your dedication and how hard you are willing to work.
Our programs will allow you to get the most out of your fitness and nutrition.
On average, most clients lose approximately 1 pound of body fat (not scale
weight) per week and often will lose 5-15 pounds in a 6-week period.
How long are the training sessions?
The typical session is 60 minutes.
What time of day are the training sessions?
During the initial consultation, we will go over certain fitness questions, and
we'll work with you to establish a training schedule that fits your
lifestyle. We can train as early as 5:00 a.m., and sessions can run until 8:00
p.m.
What types of individuals do you work with?
Every client is unique. Training sessions will be individualized based on
fitness level. Whether you are a beginner, just getting started, or a fitness
enthusiast looking to take your workout to the next level, we’ll develop a
personalized program focused on your goals and skill level.
Do you only offer one-on-one training?
Training sessions are available for couples and other small groups.
Recruit a friend or two and have fun getting fit together!
How often should I meet with a personal trainer?
This depends on how quickly you want to reach your fitness goals, your schedule,
and your budget. Remember that this is your health, and there is nothing
on earth that is more important ... because without it you have nothing.
Usually, clients are most successful when they meet with a personal trainer 3-6
times the first month ... and monthly visits after that to keep them on track.
Less than that and many people will start to slack and not get nearly as much
out of it.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when determining how often you'll meet
with your trainer:
1. How fast do you want to achieve your goals and see results?
The more frequently you meet with your trainer, the faster you'll see results
and reach your goals. Through consistency, accountability, motivation, guidance,
and the answers to your fitness questions you'll work much harder with your
trainer than on your own.
2. How experienced are you, and how much do you really know about fitness?
We spend years studying and learning, and we focus on helping and teaching
you and answering your fitness questions.. Think about it ... if you don't
know taxes, are you going to try to figure it out yourself or have someone help
you? Why leave your fitness questions and results to chance? Let us help you!
Most clients we work with start out meeting with their personal trainer 3 times
per week and then will gradually decrease the frequency as they progress and
learn more.
3. How many fitness questions do you need answered?
How do I get started?
Getting started is easy. You can call us at 1.866.230.5460 or e-mail us at
info@newwavefitness.com.
One of our personal trainers will schedule your initial consultation,
which is the start to a better and healthier you.
Why should I choose New Wave Fitness?
There are several reasons ...
1. We offer comprehensive personal training programs. Instead of using
generic workouts, we develop customized strength, flexibility, cardio, and
nutrition plans specifically for your goals, availability, current fitness
level, etc.
Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes. Nearly all of our programs can be split into multiple payments.
What areas do you service?
Currently, personal training is available to clients in all of the Dallas/Ft.
Worth metroplex and suburbs.
Where will I meet with my trainer?
We offer personal training in your home, office, apartment fitness center, or
health club.
The cost of our programs is the same whether you have a trainer come to you
or meet with one in a health club. The only additional cost may be a
membership fee if you are working with a trainer in a health club, and you are
not already a member.
Do I need to have home equipment if I am going to be working with a trainer
in my home?
No. Nearly all of our in-home clients have little or no equipment at all and
get amazing results. Unless you are into power lifting, bodybuilding, or
competitive sports, all you need is to work the muscles, and you can do that
with body weight calisthenics, exercise bands, free weights, manual resistance,
exercise balls, etc.
Are all of your personal trainers certified? Insured?
Yes. All of our personal trainers hold multiple certifications and/or
degrees. We carry a comprehensive insurance policy, and we have both male
and female trainers available.
