Protein Supplementation
Being a
personal
trainer
, most clients tend to have questions about their diet
and more specifically protein intake. Among the questions that are asked
regarding protein, which protein powders are the best is a common question that
I am asked. So what is my opinion on protein supplementation than protein
powders?
There are many protein supplements out there on the market as sports
supplementation is a multi-billion-dollar industry. However it is very important
to realize that the supplement industry is not regulated by the FDA so you got
to be careful with what supplements you purchase. My advice is to always go with
a reputable company that has been around for an extended period of time with
good reviews.
That being said to increase your protein intake I do feel that protein powders
can be very beneficial. In regards to the powders, I feel that whey protein
isolate is going to give you the most efficient protein for your body to
assimilate. Make sure that whey protein isolate is the first ingredient on the
ingredient list of your protein powder. Make sure to stay away from protein
powders that have proprietary blends and maltodextrin.
Additionally at your best served to stay away from protein bars as well. Many
protein bars are filled with sugar alcohol, and fillers that are no good for
you.
