Reasons you aren't achieving the results you want
In this article I want to dive into many of the reasons why you may not be
achieving the results you want. As a trainer of over 15 years, and somebody who
has worked with hundreds of people, many of the mistakes that are made that
hinder progress tend to be pretty common, let's take a look.
The first thing is consistency. Have you been consistent with your
fitness plan? If you set out to get 5 workouts a week, are you getting five
workouts a week? Or are you doing three one week, four the next week, 5 the ext
week, and so on so forth? Consistency is always going to be the key. It's
consistency over periods of time is what's going to help you get the results.
The lack of consistency tends to be a major problem with most peoples exercise
plan.
Are you keeping a food journal? I love the saying that good bodies are built in
the kitchen, it has a lot of relevance. If you are not dieting correctly, it
doesn't matter how hard you work out you will never receive the results that you
want. So it is my advice to keep a food journal writing down everything you eat
or drink, calories, all your Macros and so on and so forth. This is the only way
to be absolutely be certain that you diet in the way you should be.
Are you resting enough? The other side of the equation is recovery and rest. Are
you getting your 7 or 8 hours of sleep each night? Most of us don't, therefore
we don't recover fully. If you aren't getting all the sleep that you need at
night, try to take a half an hour or hour nap throughout the day. I know how
tough it is to get the adequate amount of sleep, but try to factor that into
your daily equation.
Any one of these variables being off is going to throw off your progress without
a doubt. You need to have consistency in your workouts, consistency in your
diet, and the proper rest to achieve the results that you're looking for. Make
sure you're documenting everything, and that you are getting efficiency in each
one of those variables.
